Material

More than 90% of the raw materials making up the finished oil are derived from sustainable organic plants. It is formulated to penetrate the wood fibres and cure through a polymerization process which cross link the oil's molecules.

What the DECK oil is primarily the pure oil of the Tung tree nut which is:

Tung oil builds quickly, consolidates the wood surface into a tough, flexible seal which gives excellent waterproofing properties. Unlike many synthetic film-forming compounds, it will not peel or blister and can be recoated with comparative ease.

In order to achieve the deep penetration which will prolong the protection, the Tung Oil is blended with Orange Oil. Orange Oil is extracted from orange peel left over from commercial juice making process and is:

The oil and timber substrate is protected from the harmful effects of ultra violet light by the addition of minute particles of zinc oxide. These particles are processed using the latest nanotechnology and their transparency allows the aesthetically pleasant appeal of the natural timber in an outdoor environment to be fully appreciated.

The inclusion of transparent iron oxides gives added UV protection besides imparting a hue which is either red/brown or brown, to best suit the colour of the host timber.

The longevity of the timber protection is enhanced by the inclusion of low viscosity silicons and an active fungicide which generate excellent water repellency and deter mould respectively.
